The Demon King
The Demon King, sometimes called Demise, is a malevolent deity who seeks to steal the power of the Golden Goddesses. He represents cruel ambition in the absence of morality; the desperate obsession to subjugate others for solely personal gain.
Demise wishes to rule the world with an iron fist and reshape it in his image. People who follow the Demon King believe that power is worth any cost, and that strength means ruling over others rather than serving a higher power or some noble philosophy.
After an ancient divine war, the Goddess Hylia banished him from the Material Plane and now stands constant vigil to prevent his return. The Demon King now reaches into the world by corrupting mortals with promises of power and conquest. He has done this throughout history with mixed success. With loyal allies he is capable of opening planar rifts into the world, which allow his many monsters and foul servants to enter the land.
He has created at least one society by corrupting two Gerudo clans and a group of Hylian sorcerers known as the "Interlopers" -- who were subsequently exiled into the Shadowfell to become the Twili people. On very rare occasions he has come close to completely breaking his shackles and invading the world.
Unlike Lazu, who governs the chaotic elements of nature without regard for the society of "civilization," the Demon King is a truly cruel deity who thrives on wanton destruction and violence.
Hylia and the Demon King remain locked in eternal combat.
