Dog Hollow Pike (DAHG hah-LOW PEYE-kuh)
In the Venlof mountain range, near the peak Dog Hollow Peak, is a narrow and uniformly strainght canyon known as Dog Hollow Pike. Over the millennia, thousands of footsteps have worn the pathway smooth and uniform. Travel on foot, beast of burden, or even by wagon is fairly simple. Unfortunatly the gaping maw in the face of a mountain at the end of the canyon is not a hospitible place for the unprepared.
Officially the pike begins at the center square of the small town of Dog Hollow. When a well organized expedition begins, there is typically a large celebration and wagers place upon their success or failure. Smaller, less recognized and less prepared expeditions begin all the time, but much less fanfare and hoopla is seen. In all reality, there is about the same success rate between the two.
