Artifacts

There are five well know, in legend at least, artifacts Lehas has created since The Peninsula was formed. While there are many other's these are in song and prose across The Peninsula.

The Tempest Trident

Rumored to have been forged in calm eye at the bottom of a whirlpool that reached to the bottom of the ocean, this formidable trident has the power to summon wind, storms, and waves. It can cause hurricanes and tsunamis, wreaking havoc on coastal regions.
This gold inlaid trident crackles with lightening and its three prongs constantly drip a foul dark cold seawater.
Location: The Abyss - Ruins of Paenimnor
Owner: Lehas

Crown of the Abyss

A twisted golden crown encrusted with coral, barnacles, and dark pearls. It grants the wearer dominion over sea creatures. It is well told that the crown also solwly warps the wearers mind with the chaotic fury of the depths. It fills their minds with fury driving them to anger, aggression, and brash action.
Location: The Abyss - Maurie Trapdown's Domain
Owner: Maurie Trapdown

Maelstrom Cloak

Maelstrom cloaks are woven from lampblack kelp, reinforced with manta ray leather, and clasped with electric clam shells. The wearer can engulf an area with a swirling vortex of salt water. It shimmers with a spectral blue light and seems to flow and wave as if under water. The wearer themself take on a ghostlike appearance and project a cold unfathomable presence.
There are several other abilities of the cloaks, but it is assumed that not all cloaks have the same abilities. Each of the granted cloaks is most likely unique.

The Anchor of Desolation

This is a large barnacle encrusted steel anchor. The barnicles form geometric patterns across the surface and if viewed in the right light the patterns will move and merge in unsettling ways. The anchor radiates evil to all within 5' of it.
It is believed that if this anchor is ever dropped from a ship and cast into the sea that it brings about desolation. The surronding waters become barren and devoid of life. Those sailing above it are stricken with a grim unquenchable thirst. And finally it is believed and feared that it opens a gate to The Abyss.
Location: Citadel of the Sun
Owner: Order of the Scroll

The Brined Goblet

This chalice is perpetually filled with a brine of poisonous sea water. Anyone who drinks the contents and survives is granted a random power or ability. The chalice absorbs the lifeforce of those killed (like by the poison) near it. Once it has absorbed enough life force it teleports away to an new location.

Holy Books & Codes

of Chum and Churn

Like most holy texts, of Chum and Churn begins with a telling of the creation story. This one is a dark tale about betrayal and a need to create the oceans depths as a refuge. It then goes on to emphasize the destructive power of water and a reminder that it is a chaotic force.
Teachings and doctorines deifying chaos and destruction are next in the book. Glorification of storms, shipwrecks, and nautical disasters for they are truly Lehas' will. The teachings encourage followers to embrace the unpredictable and creul side of the sea for its chaos must be divine expression.
There are foreboding prophecies related to the sea throughout the next section. Predictions of catastropic floods or the awakening of an epic sea monster for example. Explinations of interpretations of Lehas' omens are laid out as well.
An appendix of historical chronicals helps to make of Chum and Churn one of the most popular holy books by sages across The Peninsula. This appendix is updated every 10 years and accounts for storms, shipwrecks, and sea battles anywhere under Lehas' domain. Enchanted versions exist that are magically updated to the desired year upon command. Common written texts are kept in 10 year volumes.
Throughout the tome is an undertone of a moral code that celebrates strength and dominance over compasion and empathy. It constantly encourages embracing and accepting nature's cruelty. Followers are encouraged to emulate the relentless and unforgiving nature of the sea.

Drowned Remembrance

At the height of the rainy season when water tables are at their anual maximums the church observes those lost at sea, believed to have been claimed by Lehas herself. The ceremonies of the day involve rituals of rememberance and offereings cast into the sea. The day traditionally ends with prayers of protection from the deity's wrath.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Lehas wants revenge. She feels betrayed by the other four and is borderline insane from carrying the anger for so long. The biggest obsticle in completing that revenge is the Divine Dogma.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

With green streaks gleaming in her black hair and a metallic sheen to her skin Lehas presents a striking and ethereal appearance. She appears both powerful and graceful with a slightly showing athletic build that speaks to her command of the seas and deeps. Her movements are fluid and effortless. An observer is reminded of the ebb and flow of ocean waves.

Body Features

Lehas' skin has an irridescent green sheen that is reminiscent of the colors of the ocean. It is also adorned with patterns of whirls and waves. The tint of the sheen and patterns made change and roil in conjunction with her mood and emotions.
Her clothing, when worn, is made from and adorned with materials that evoke memories of the sea. Garments that flow or resemble water, often times embellished with layers of nets or toule. Notions on the garments are typically chells, corals, and pearls.
Finally, she is continually surrounded by a faint mist and the subtle sound of moving water.

Facial Features

Her hair is long and flows like seaweed in the ocean currents, predominantly black but with streaks of green that shimmer like sunlight filtering through water. These highlights seem to move and shift, giving her an otherworldly and mesmerizing aura.
Her face itself carries an enigmatic beauty, with sharp, elegant features that are both alluring and intimidating. Her eyes are deep and captivating, perhaps reflecting the colors of the ocean, changing from hues of deep blue to stormy gray with her moods. Her gaze is penetrating, holding the depth and mystery of the sea itself.

Mental characteristics

Intellectual Characteristics

Lehas has two leading intellectual characteristics. However they are very much opposed with each other. She is a strategic thinker, especially in conflicts with the other members of the pantheon. Her decisions and actions are usually driven by long term goals and the desire to maintain current levels of power and influence.
On the flip side, she is known for a very tempermental and impulsive reaction in emotional situations. This often happens when her authority is challenged or decisions questioned, she is know to fly off the handle and make impulsive decisions that are more emotional than rational.
Finally she is vengeful and unforgiving. Lehas has held grudges longer than some civilizations have existed in The Peninsula. If Lehas feels she has been slighted, she will be ruthless, relentless, and cruel in executing her vengence.

Morality & Philosophy

Make no mistake. Lehas is a chaotic evil deity, but she hides it well from the general populace. She has a profound fondness for destruction for its own sake. Lehas delights in the havoc and ruin that she or her followers can cause. Natural disasters, mortals doing he bidding, or tricking the unsuspecting into causing the random destruction is very pleasing for her.
After destruction Lehas enjoys others suffering and inflicting pain upon them. She also takes great pride in fear that pours off of sailors in great danger from the seas. She almost sees it as a form of worship from them.
Order and structure are an anethma to her and she naturally opposes any form of reformation that would bring safety and stability to the seas. Over the centuries there has been more than one attempt to patrol the coasts and eliminated threats to established shipping lanes. Each and every time, Lehas has interveined, both directly and indirectly, to squash these attempts at germinating security on the seas.
Finally, Lehas is selfish. She prioritizes her own desires and whims above everything else. She has no concern for the needs, lives, or safety of others. To her other beings are tools or resources to be used for her own enjoyment or gain.

Taboos

Thou shalt not embrace order and structure
Lehas abhors anything the represents order, structure, or organization. Establishing or maintaining order, whether in the natural world or among worshippers, is against her fundamental precepts.

Thou shalt not show compassion
Acts of kindness, compassion, or altruism are taboo to the faithful of Lehas. She views these actions as weakness or even a betrayal to her chaotic evil ideals.

Thou shalt not be predictable
One of the gravest sins for a follower of Lehas. Being predictable in actions or decisions goes against the very essence of chaos. Those that prize unpredictability and spontaneity are blessed and favored by the goddess.

Thou shalt not self sacrifice
The concept of sacrificing one's own interests for the greater good is anathema to Lehas. She completely expects followers to typically prioritize their own desires and whims.
