Shade Gate Settlement in The Liberation Insurgence | World Anvil

Shade Gate

Hidden behind a waterfall is the town of Shade Gate that home to the Thrar, who live on the planet known as Veania-926-Zeon. These beings are lead by Sergeant Alluin. This town wasn't built behind a waterfall by accident, as it has escape routes, which is of great importance to the people of Shade Gate and its success.   The reason Shade Gate is in the "middle of nowhere" is due to the waterfall keeping it hidden. Anyone who lands their ship on Veania-926-Zeon can only happen across the town by chance, much like someone who is traveling the backroads of the country and stumbles across a hidden gem of a country town.

The Town

The town itself looks flamboyant. With its yew wood rooftops, wheat straw walls and the native bird species, Shade Gate has a pleasant atmosphere. The main attraction is the large park, which was built 2,100 years ago and designed by pirates.   In the middle of the town is two giant rocks that for a crescent moon point at the roof of the cavern. Glowing in the center of the crescent is a giant red orb. This orb is what grants semi-life to the town and helps to nurish the plant life that grows there.

Economy

Shade Gate has a troubled economy, which is mainly supported by medicine, animal breeding, and jewelcrafting. But their biggest strengths are ancient wine brewing techniques and a strong defense. However, Shade Gates lacks beings skilled in blacksmithing.   Despite its strengths and weaknesses, Shade Gate is most likely headed towards a macabre future under the leadership of Sergeant Alluin. But this remains to be seen.
