From The Elemental Planes, Mature at various ages (minimum one year spent in elemental plane), Life Expectancy ???

The Genasi were born as a result of The Abyss Engine being altered and damaged, causing strange impurities in the magical flow of the world. These impurities have coalesced in new elementals being born in the Elemental Planes starting with the image of Zulex Vlaston due to him asserting his existence into the World Engine. Though they have quickly taken forms different than the template and bear no other relation to him, it has meant that all Genasi take humanoid forms despite their fantastical origin.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

A fledgling Genasi will go through a tumultuous and harsh upbringing for at least a year in their respective Elemental Planes but oftentimes some will leave before they are fully "formed."
