The Limbo Plane
Limbo, a transition state between life and death. A creature inflicted with the transformation of limbo can appear as any race, but are often known as Limbodians. They originate from the Material Plane after undergoing a near-death experience where their body dies, but their soul lives on. A soul would then travel the multiverse until arriving at The Limbo Plane where they would rematerialize into their former selves, but their eyes would be white, skin coloured grey, and alignment becomes chaotic.
The Limbo Plane is also the dropping ground for banished creatures and portal spells gone wrong. Unlike most planes, once one portals into Limbo, there is no safe way of portalling back out. The chaotic environmental effects of wild magic has a strong hold over those within The Limbo Plane. The entire plane is covered in wild magic, even the air breathed. Some zones contain weaves of wild magic that can become damaged, or distorted. In such areas, a spell could backfire upon its caster, target the wrong location, be dramatically increased or decreased in power, anything can occur.
There once was a planet called, Ka'os. On this planet, millions of genasi inhabitants lived alongside powerful god-like titans of elemental energy who were at constant conflict with one another. One day the four Primordial Titans fought, and the aftermath resulted in the planet breaking into five chunks; Auran, Ignan, Terran, Aquan, and Primordial.
Fortunate creatures find themselves portalled within the city of Chaosia, others are left to wander The Outskirts, and the other planetary chunks. If the ever-changing environmental effects don't kill its arrivals, then the chaotic inhabitants will.
