The Headhunters

Primitive even to the lesser native tribes, they are seen as the true savages of the New World. Allowed to remain by the Infinite Serpent, they form a sort of natural barrier to anyone approaching from the north. Even the Protectorate shoots them on sight, as their brutality seems to know no bounds, known to often eat their victims or incorporate their bones in their weapons, armor, and houses. When those that wish to fight come of age, they resort to extreme body modifications to prove their ferocity. Some common practices include sharpening all of one's teeth to points with a knife and block of wood, while others involve scarification or inserting discs under the flesh. Leadership positions are won in trials of combat, however the people have little to no rights, and are at the mercy of the strongest person in their immediate vicinity at all times.
