The Protectorate
Once a great nation, the loss of several wars has fractured the monarchy into feuding houses looking for their rights to claim the throne for themselves. Although divided politically, they function just fine in the New World. Focusing on a gradual rise to power, they offer natives medicine and knowledge while they bide their time for peaceful annexations. They follow a reformation of the Trinity, calling it Unus Deus, meaning the one true God, putting them at odds with most of their monarchal neighbors. They have outlawed slavery in many forms, even offering full citizenship to any natives that serve a contract of five years in the military or ten as a laborer. The most notable instance happened with the Planewalkers in the south, many of which survived the Imperial bounties by assimilating into the Protectorate.
