The War Priests

A territory once conquered by the Silklords, they offered such a fierce resistance that the Emperor took notice and offered them an ultimatum. In exchange for the lives of their people, who would now live as hostages, they would now serve as elite soldiers to reinforce the large but somewhat fragile army. Upon taking up the mantle of War Priest, these men must swear a vow of silence so that they may never repeat anything that they see or hear. They often never return home, however a delicate balance has been found where their lineage has not been lost. Adept at more than just fighting, they create their own weapons and armor from ordinary and cost effective materials, preferring the use of a polearm and a special mail made from compressed paper and resins. Since they are not permitted to fly a flag anymore, they often dye this armor brown and gold to show their pride for their history.
