12th of Winterfyll, 3517 - Crowning of Overking Reynald the 1st

After Overking Ovar and his army vanished in the pursuit of the Huun invaders after lifting the siege off Bards Gate, the Foere crown has been ruled by a King Regency. Many have debated and pondered how long the crown should delay the crowning of his hereditary successor, for each passing month those distant realms that wish independance grow bolder knowing the leadership of the Foere Crown is failing. After consulting with his advisors, the new king has issued a proclamation far and wide to announce that he has assumed the mantle of leadership.

The 12th of Winterfyll has been declared a holy day of celebration, forever known as Unification Day. All those in the Empire are encouraged to come together in these trying times and unite in the face of the overwhelming danger that threatens our kingdom. With the tragic loss of our beloved King Ovar, by divine right, his son Prince Reynald has assumed the throne and has been crowned Overking. All of the subjects of the crown recognize, His Holy Radiance, Emperor of the Hyperborean Monarchy, Overking of the Foerdewaith and Heldring, Prince of Ynys Cymragh, Guardian of the West, Grand Admiral of the Oceans, Suzerain of Khemit, Protector of Tircople and the Sacred Table, Defender of the Faith, King Reynald I

King Reynald will officially be crowned on the 12th and talk across the kingdom and beyond has many wondering what Unification means or will bring to the realms. For now those that oppose the Foere Crown and those allied to it await to see what actions the new King will take. The first major proclamation from the Overking was between the Foere Crown and the Mercantile Empire of Bards Gate. Overking Reynald of the Foere Crown and the High Burgess Cylyria of Bards Gate, wish it to be known unto the world that the two Empires stand as allies. In return for Bards Gates economic and military aid, the crown has relinquished sovereignty of all lands in the Plains of Mayfurrow.
The Plains of Mayfarrow has historically been controlled by the Duchy of Newmont, but over the years has become increasingly isolated due to its geographic remoteness and lack of political exertion. With the dissolution of the Duchy of Newmont it has further fractured into competing Baronies, each holding a tumultuous alliance under the banner of the Foere Crown. The northern and coastal region of the Plains Bards Gate has exerted most of the control over the region, controlling the prominent Trade Way and the trading port of Salt Marsh. With this declaration, the Crown has negotiated aid from Bards Gate in return for allowing the City State to claim these lands. The Barons themselves found this news to be a shock, though no official statements have yet been declared. It is unsure if they will submit to the mercantile empire or try to fight against its expansion.
