Rhiaan, Goddess Of The Air & Birds

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Domains: Air, Animal, Chaos, Travel
Symbol: A unique soaring green bird.
Garb: A blue cape trimmed with feathers. Feathered bird masks are used in ceremonial activities.
Favored Weapons: Quarterstaff.
Form of Worship and Holidays: Rhiaan worshipers feast on the vernal equinox, and engage in solemn prayer during the autumnal equinox.
Typical Worshipers: Intelligent avians, swanmays, chaotic dragons, and other intelligent flying creatures.
Usually appearing as a bright, forest green serpent, she is a chaotic deity who rarely seeks or awards favors for her worshipers. While her blessing are short, her anger lasts longer, however, and those who incur her wrath find themselves plagued by evil birds for long periods until they make appropriate penance. Devoted followers keep aviaries of many different species of exotic birds. When visiting the mortal realms, Rhiaans companion and favored pet, an intelligent Roc named Soarrat, is often nearby.   Rhiaans realm, floating palace called the Aerie, shifts across the border between Arborea and Ysgard. Flying processions of eagles, falcons, and other flying creatures can fill the sky around her palace for hours, and when they find perches, they can fill entire forests.   While she delighted in creating unpredictable weather, including some fairly severe thunderstorms, her primary joy was simply to feel the air around her as she flew high above the ground.   The church of Rhiaan was small, usually with little organization and only a few scattered temples. The clergy was primarily concerned with exploration and maintaining good relations with other sentient avian races, such as giant eagles and aarakocra. Sometimes Cloud giants worshipped Rhiaan, their proximity to the clouds and connection with avian species making them have commonality with the Goddess.   In some areas of the world where magic is strong, there are floating rocks, large cliffs, or even sky islands. In these areas, Rhiaans worshippers are strongest, as they believe this a sign of their deity.
