Form of Worship and Holidays: Although Nocticula honors no unholy days herself, she encourages her followers to observe the holidays and rituals of other demon lords; specifically by intervening in them and slaughtering the competition on their most revered days of worship. Nocticula urges her followers to always stay one step ahead of their competition, and to never let the enemy feel like they are safe from her wiles.

Noctiula is not the most powerful, nor the eldest, nor the most respected of the many demon lords of the abyss, nor is she the progenitor of any species of demons like the infamous Malcanthet - yet she may be the most feared and hated in the eyes of demonkind itself. The Queen of the Midnight Isles possesses many strengths and talents, but most infamous among her qualities is her startling proficiency in killing other demon lords. Several powerful demonic rulers have risen to power, formed sprawling cults and curried worship among mortals, only to fall prey to Nocticula's cunning and deceit soon after. None know exactly how Nocticula so ruthlessly disposes of her rivals in the Abyss, and few dare to get close enough to try and find out. Her unerring capability in slaying her own kind won Nocticula a great deal of fear and respect in the Abyss. Many powerful demons flocked to her side to serve her out of fear that their own masters were not safe from her wrath. For every demon lord seeking to be the one to put the Lady in Shadow down for good, there were two that sought to elevate their own status by allying with her instead. Thus did Nocticula weave a shadowy web of deceit and subterfuge, capable of protecting her against all but massive and cooordinated cooperative efforts levied against her - efforts that are nigh anathema to most of demonkind. Capitalizing on her status as a nexus of demonic affairs, Nocticula ruled the city of Alushinyrra in her abyssal realm known as the Midnight Isles. Alushinyrra is one of the largest permanent settlements in all of the Abyss, and although brimming with dangers both demonic and otherwise, it was also one of the safest locales in the plane to visit for mortals and planar travelers. Ruling the expansive trading hub of Alushinyrra afforded Nocticula considerable influence in planar affairs, even among mortals and her natural enemies from the other planes. A cruel sadist on one hand and a seductive beauty on the other, Nocticula was patron to traitors, assassins, and seducers. Assassins' guilds in her service were established in many cities and were constantly at odds with other guilds, often leading to protracted shadow wars.
