The Bleeding Moon Clan
The Bleeding Moons are one of the five dominant clans that make up The Stormcaller Orcs. While their name dates back over a thousand years, the last time they were in power was before The Stormcallers came to power 70 years prior. The Bleeding Moons led the Orcs under the tribal chieftain Hortog. Hortog was a ruthless and brutal chieftain, who led the Orcs on raids and plundered every tribe or village he could every summer. The surrounding villages have not forgotten the blood moon banners that raided and pillaged their villages in times past, and it took a lot of time before they were willing to open up trade or allow the orcs inside their villages.
While the Bleeding Moons are more brutal and have a disposition to war and violence than the other tribes, they still strongly believe in The Code of our Fathers and seek to change the ways of the village through legitimate means. None in the village have a sense of subtly and they would not dream of achieving their goals through trickery.
The patron deity of the orcs under the Stormcallers has been Gromm the Thunderer for some time, but the Bleeding Moon Clan still hold to the old ways and the worship of Grotaag, God of Orcs.
Public Agenda
The Bleeding Moons wish a return to worshiping Grotaag and the traditional Orc philosophy of raiding and pillaging the surrounding countryside.
Assets
The Bleeding Moons have a wall section of buildings located in the Upper Hill. They have the only mercenaries for hire in the village, named "Dergus Screamers" that hire themselves out to anyone in need of hired muscle. While they usually only deal with orc, good gold goes a long ways and they would gladly hire themselves to other races should the price be right.
History
The clan can trace its history back to before the Orcs traveled north, over hundreds of years before and even pre-dating the Code of Our Fathers. After the Orc tribes migration north, the Bleeding Moon clan assumed a brief but dominant period of political power. During this time, they led conquests of the outlying villages and assumed dominion over the White Wolf Timberland.
When the Barbarian invasion came south, the Bleeding Moon clan led the defense of the village. Badly outnumbered and unable to match the primal ferocity found in the humans of the north, devastating defeats were suffered, leading to the quick decline of The Bleeding Moon Clan. The Stormcallers called upon their new Gods to defeat the invaders and saved their village.
With the Stormcaller clans recent failing ability to call upon the storms power, the Bleeding Moon clan led by Dergu have garnered far more support. Many flock to his banner with the promise of a return to the older times of power and conquest.
