Koramagišu
Named after Kohra, the god of protection in Isturoth, a koramagišu (or "Kohra's call") is a self-defence whistle one can discreetly carry on their person. It is long and thin and can make a loud, shrill noise with little effort, making it an ideal tool for protection.
Most are made by expert metallurgists or tinkerers, however they are very easy to create, so they exist is a broad variety of shapes, materials and designs. These whistles are more of an urban invention, created for places which much higher populations and criminal elements, where one could benefit from alerting nearby guards or civilians that they need help.
While the pitch and tone may vary slightly, when one blows one of these whistles, most will stop what they are doing and either call for a local guard or go to investigate the source of the trouble themselves.
Significance
Many have attempted to normalise the carrying of a koramagišu over the years, ensuring all populi have a means to defend themselves, to alert those around them they need assistance. They have also come in handy in cases of natural disasters. Landslides or earthquakes can often be devastating, however when survivors are carrying whistles on them, it can make it easier to find them amidst the rubble.
These became so popular amongst citizens than even guards and local mititia had taken to using them as a tool to alert other guards know there was trouble and to call for reinforcements. For most protected settlements in Isturoth, they are now standard issue for all guardspeople.
