Lament of the Obsidian King
Ishturakh Blackwood, also called Lord Blackwood of the Embers or the "Obsidian King", was one of the most well-known conquerors in history. He settled much of the continent and founded the kingdom of Isturoth. When he passed, it was a great sadness for many, and there are a litany of songs, poems and other requiems written in his honour.
There is one that stands out, however, as being the quintessential verse composed for the deceased overlord. This was first carved into stone tablets, linked together by a chain. After some time, these were bound in iron frames to prevent their erosion over time. Eventually, molten silver was cast into the engraved text, in an attempt to preserve it further.
