Missive of the Mountain
The famed conqueror of the Ironstone Mountains and founder of Isturoth known as Lord Blackwood of the Embers, is possibly the most well-known historical figures in the entire kingdom. It is said that in his old age, Lord Blackwood penned a final letter back to those who inhabited his original homeland of Aethelas.
Purpose
Allegedly, it contained his last will and testament, intimate details he would only share upon his deathbed. His reasoning behind his conquest and expansion, his greatest regrets and most valuable insights would have been contained within the communication.
While Lord Blackwood was not sickly at the time of writing, he apparently had foreseen his own death and described it in great detail in the letter. This is a hotly-debated topic and many still have no idea how exactly such a renowned and powerful conqueror met his ultimate end. This missive is also said to foretell details as grandiose as the Fall of Aethelas and even the ultimate decline of Isturoth.

Legacy
All that is agreed upon is that the letter never left Isturoth, lost somewhere among the mountains. This legendary missive is the last word of Lord Blackwood and contains the bulk of his lost knowledge put to vellum. Despite how unlikely it may be, there are still those who believe the letter is preserved somewhere, awaiting re-discovery.
Lord Blackwood could certainly have written such a letter in his final days and it is entirely possible it contained his last will and testament or a final message to those of his homeland.
