We had a tabaxi come through once, a few winters back. She kept the taproom packed each night with her stories and spent most days napping in a chair in front of the fireplace. We thought she was lazy, but when Linene came around looking for a missing broach, she was out the door before I could blink an eye.

As a people Tabaxi are known as travelers, consistently on the move in search of answers to their curiosities. To a Tabaxi life is measured by how many things you can collect, not material things but knowledge and experiences. When The Maelstrom Isles were discovered and people were flocking there, Tabaxi followed. The chance to experience a new land drew many of them, though other races see them as a bit odd, expedition leaders can always find a willing Tabaxi for an exploration mission.

ability score increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1.

age: Tabaxi have lifespans equivalent to humans.

alignment: Playing into the capricious nature of cats, Tabaxi tend to gravitate towards chaotic alignments in the Forgotten Realms. As with anything alignment related, I suggest tossing this out and forgetting it ever existed.

speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.

Size

Tabaxi are taller on average than humans and relatively slender. Your size is Medium.

Darkvision

You have a cat’s keen senses, especially in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Feline Agility

Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.

Cat's Claws

Because of your claws, you have a climbing speed of 20 feet. In addition, your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Cat's Talent

You have proficiency in the Perception and Stealth skills.

Description

Appearance

These feline people have a wide array of colors and patterns of their fur making each one unique. Tabaxi average height is slightly taller than the average size of humans.

Homeland

There are many different types of Tabaxi that reside in different biomes. They build their homes in the boughs of jungle trees or on the plains of a savanna, even on the sheer sides of cliffs. The homes of Tabaxi are for those expecting children and the first few years of raising them as well as for the elderly that are too old to roam.

Religion

The Tabaxi worship Luxion who views the world through the Sun and Tebali who views the world through the Moon. They are the Watchers, they see all people and share their experiences.
