Old Grequin

Writing System

-Mostly circular characters with most common characters simple strokes (designed for pen writing).   -No majuscule characters and limited punctuation marks (. , ? !) .   -Letters are designed so that writing takes up as little space as possible.

Geographical Distribution

Covered much of the Grequin Valley until the end of the First Era.

Phonology

-Two sets of vowels.   -Large variety of consonant sounds that are all regularly used.

Morphology

-Verbs conjugated for number, gender and person.   -Nouns decline into three genders; singular, dual or plural; and one of five cases: nominative, accusative, dative, instrumental, and genitive.

Syntax

-S V O word order.   -Difference between transitive and intransitive verbs.

Vocabulary

Almost completely original words, with a few borrowings from Valley Elvish.
