Lady Wachter

Lady Wachter is now the Burgomaster (leader) of Vallaki. She took the mantle from Baron Vargas Vallovich, who had run the town to ruin with weekly festivals meant to ward against THE DEVIL. 
A small band of adventurers revivified the morose house of the Wachters when they disenchanted Stella (also known as "Little Kitty"). The youngest daughter of Lady Wachter, Stella was insane when the adventurers were introduced to the village. They unraveled the machinations of Vargas' son, Victor, and restored sanity to Stella. 
With the distress of Stella's condition removed, and the mantle of leadership thrust upon her, Lady Wachter has been making drastic strides to salvage Vallaki. The guard have been dispatched to help reclaim the farmsteads from the wolves that have kept farmers from tending their fields. She has sent messengers to all the towns of Barovia, hoping for news and allies. Her fledgling troops were in the process of securing a route to the winery when Strahd laid seige to the town. 
Lady Wachter is currently a beacon of hope in the mists and morrowful Barovia.
