A Duranium Blade is a highly advanced version of the common sword, that uses high value, high tensile strength alloys for its primary cutting surface. Widespread throughout the galaxy in all shapes and sizes it is a standard weapon in martial cultures, and used ceremonially even in some cultures that do not employ it as a weapon anymore.  The durasteel cutting surface ensures excellent, retained sharpness and next to no difference in weight from plasteel. Some forms of blades are powered and can emit a burst of electricity on hit.
