UNE Peacekeeper Marshal A Directed Energy Pistol or Pulse Pistol is a smaller version of a pulse rifle, carried by some races as their main sidearm. A pulse pistol is much larger and less compact than a Blast Pistol but much lighter at the same time. The weight and balance requirements for a pistol do not allow for a lot of shielding around the beam emitter and on board converter, leaving the weapon to become hazardously radioactive at times. Nonetheless Pulse Pistols are incredibly accurate and can serve with added stock and optics the exact same role as their rifle counterparts. Pulse Pistols are the main side-weapons of the the Voor, although the Voor sometimes integrate the weapon's components into an arm or a hip holster. They are sometimes used by marines or carried by deep space engineers and scientists in conflict areas as a defense weapon. In sol space they are quite rare due to both leakage problems and the ubiquity of advanced ballistic weapons. Human-made Pulse Pistols have recently become fashionable weapons among the Lokk and they are the go-to for the Awoken as well.
