Evolved on the arid planet of Xanth, the Xani are a gruff race of long-lived taskmasters who have for millennia used the Vheln for heavy labor. Xani have an innate sense of superiority and consider themselves to be better than other bioforms based solely on their genome.
Xani males stand around 2 meters tall, long and thin with four insectile legs and two complex four pronged pincer claws. Xani females are much shorter at 1.5 meters, with a wider base. The females weigh around 110 kgs, with males around 10 kgs lighter. Xani can live up to 150 years, as long as their body can sustain their exoskeleton. Xani consider themselves to be pinnacles of evolution and do not modify their body, at least not overtly. Cybernetics are exceedingly rare and always camouflaged while genetic modifications are relatively common among the wealthy but done in such a way as to be undetectable. With their long lifespans, above average intelligence and talented nature, Xani are naturally born leaders for those who can accept their haughty ways.
Though quite a few Xani have undergone genetic modification of some sort they would never dare call themselves anything other than Xani, the perfect name for the perfect race.
