Thaltop

Thaltop was founded in turn 43 BB when a small number of beastmen and altemen grew tired of being treated as less than the humans that dominated most of the continent of Halconiket.  The group believed they could establish a community away from both Gods and Demons as well as away from the settlements of humans where everyone was treated equally and all members contributed to the good of the whole community.

Intelligent life should be about cooperation, lifting other life to a higher state.  Competition should be supplanted by thinking beings and replaced with compassion and cooperation. We will endeavor to be better than what were were and what we can be individually, without loosing our individuality.  We hope mortals and immortals can see and follow our example in the future.

The leaders of this group, an aged  lionwoman named Kringwa and an middle-aged alteman male named Quitad lead the small group of 22 beastment, 20 altemen and three humans to the far western side of the desert territories of the Seven Tribes of Uhl, to an isolated valley near the Froctesded mountains and established the small village.  The village struggled for years, nearly collapsing and disappearing after the Blessing, but held together and even prospered, even when it was discovered they were on the Demon side of the divide after the blessing.  
The village continues to thrive today, its population continuing to grow slowly.  The land continued to provide and hunting remained good, so the talks about moving the village to the other side of the Blessing concluded each year with the village not moving and life continuing on as it always had.

Without the branches, the tree dies, without the trunk, the leaves rot upon the ground.  We have succeeded beyond all expectations and we will continue to live, thrive and reach for our best selves, together.

The Demons seem to be content to ignore the existence of the village and the monsters and devils that do encounter the town mostly avoid it, intent on crossing the border and creating havoc in the Blessed Lands.

Demographics

Primarily Beastmen, a few Altemen and even fewer Humans.

Government

The small village is a commune, all adults participate in the governing of the village and all resources are shared equally amongst the villagers.

Infrastructure

Mud-brick huts with thatched roofs.  Irrigation from the nearby mountains is rudimentary but sufficient to grow crops to feed the village and a small heard of guantigo (a four-legged, feathered herd animal).  The villagers hunt and gather in the high-desert and nearby mountains.
