Each faction in Aurelia typically has five ranks. There are usually one or two ranks above what is obtainable by players, but these are narrative beyond the simple garnering of favor, and usually represent the absolute, global authority of an entire faction whereas the final rank usually denotes regional control. The final rank of a faction is often enough to remove a PC from play and earn what adventuring party remains an
extremely powerful ally. True leadership roles, should they be desired by players, may require a good deal of political influence, campaigning, and questing.

It is unusual for a faction to also be a government, but the people of the Aegium are committed rangers. Roaming the wilds and setting right the Natural Order where it grows untamed or becomes abused by the wicked, folk that pledge to the Aegium and their cause enjoy long enough may even become citizens.
