Alfred's guide to different cultures
Purpose
Alfred Lageworth had traveled his whole life as a merchant. Along the way, he met people and cultures far different from his own, but contrary to what he had learned in his home country, not hostile. He eventually grew tired of the looks he got when he tried to talk about the wonderful things he had experienced abroad and started to write down customs and histories from the countries he visited. Some were well-known stories you could find written in the libraries, other's were extremely local. Both fiction and real, his goal was to show people that we aren't that different and that just like his own country's traditions everything had an explanation.
Stories
The most well-known story in Alfred's guide is the story told by a mother of three. Her story really resonated with a lot of people. Losing her husband to illness she described, through Alfred's words, the struggle of taking care of the farm and her two sons and daughter. Almost everyone could see themselves in her struggles to some capacity, either losing someone close, trying to protect your family or working hard to get by.Spread
Not only did the book become a huge hit in his country, it got translated and spread across the world. Alfred is now working on his second book containing even more stories and including some from his own country.Document Structure
Clauses
The book is separated into 5 parts, one for each country. Within each part there, however, isn't any real structure. Fiction is next to reality, stories of royalty a couple pages away from the beggars.
References
In Alfred's guide, there are hundreds of more well-known stories translated. Some are from books, and some were told orally to Alfred.

Author's Notes
Hello! And thank you for reading my article!
This was made during the Summer Camp 2018 challenge. I won't be editing any of these to keep them for looking back on. That being said some I'm really not happy with, so I'll most likely put up an edited version at some point. If I do you will be able to find the link on the top of the page
