Seeker

The life of a Seeker

Devoted their whole life to understanding the 7 divine, and seeking knowledge about the world and how we should care for it, the seekers are well known throughout the kingdom. You can often find them wandering the world, listening to peoples histories and caring for the shrines they pass. Everything in their lives circles around the 7 divines and understanding their teachings.

Career

Qualifications

A seeker is the 7th born son of a 7th born son born on a holy year. They get to live normally with their parents for 7 years, and if they've survived they're taken to the high temple to begin their study. While a seeker is never fully educated, the test is performed the summer of their 14th year during the seekers' meeting. If they succeed their title is official, if not they'll have to wait until the next one.

Career Progression

Every 7 years a meeting is held in the high temple. There all members are honored for dedicating another 7 to the divine. New seekers are tested during the meeting, and on rare occasions, someone gets appointed high seeker. A high seeker has been part of 7 meetings. More often memorials are held for the seekers who've passed away during the period.

Payment & Reimbursement

While not getting paid traditionally like other professions, a seeker is never short on people helping with food, water, and beds for the night. Serving a seeker is seen as an honor, but they never take more than they need.

Perception

Purpose

Seekers seek to understand the 7 divine and help the people better serve them and live better loves. They also retain a huge library of knowledge in the high temple.

Social Status

A seeker is treated like royalty wherever they go. Being engaged with the population on a personal level they usually have a good reputation compared to most nobles.

Author's Notes

Hello! And thank you for reading my article!
This was made during the Summer Camp 2018 challenge. I won't be editing any of these to keep them for looking back on. That being said some I'm really not happy with, so I'll most likely put up an edited version at some point. If I do you will be able to find the link on the top of the page
