The wolf and the witch

One day when the sun was out
and all the flowers decided to sprout.
A little girl was taking a walk
possibly on her way to friends to talk.

She entered the forest and everything got dark,
and soon she was only surrounded by bark.
She wasn't afraid of any bear,
but that wasn't the creature that was there

A wolf asked, "Is this really a place for a lady?"
His smile looking more than a little shady.
"Ah well, no matter what you say,
I'm going to eat you anyway!"

"There, dear wolf, is where you are wrong,
because I can break out into a song!"
The girl sang about her home,
her singing voice so terrible the wolf left her alone.

A hunter found the wolf covering his ear.
The wolf cried "Is she near?"
"Who do you mean?" The hunter ask,
but getting the wolf to listen was no easy task.

Then the wind carried along a song,
the hunter couldn't stand it for long.
And soon he understood,
along the path came the girl out of the wood.

The wolf and the hunter ran,
they didn't have time to plan.
What they heard couldn't be true,
the song made the sky no longer blue.

the birds stopped singing and flew away.
Then they could hear the girl say:
"You really don't like my song?
Well, you don't have to sing along"

"It is not made for you to enjoy,
its real purpose is to destroy!"
The words were now twisting and turning,
until the hunter and wolf felt like they were burning

Her song was no longer about her home,
and the girl transformed into a crone.
Along their backs, they felt an itch
as before them now stood a witch!

"Did you really think I'd let you go?"
The wolf didn't want to know
"You see, now I'm in your debt"
The wolf was so surprised he leapt!

The hunter attacked,
but his defense against magic lacked
The witch's fingers snapped
He didn't get far until he was trapped

"While all of this does entertain,
please allow me to explain..."

The beginning of a story meant to teach kids that the most dangerous person isn't always the one who looks to be.

Author's Notes

Hello! And thank you for reading my article!
This was made during the Summer Camp 2018 challenge. I won't be editing any of these to keep them for looking back on. That being said some I'm really not happy with, so I'll most likely put up an edited version at some point. If I do you will be able to find the link on the top of the page
