An Academic Opines
There is much controversy over whether this prophecy speaks true.
Revelation is the most widely known elven prophecy, mostly (in this author's opinion, entirely) because it is written in a style that is digestible even by the common masses, with an almost anachronistically simple and straightforward structure, as well as a clear meaning—that is, a prediction of the end of the world.
Another reason many are fans of
Revelation is that such drama is appealing to those with little other interest in the academics. Few appreciate the historic nature and stunning 4-2-4.5 verse of a masterful prophecy such as the
Our Mother Cried Tears Upon This Earth (Rain Prophecy 14), as it takes years — nay, decades — of dedicated scholarship to fully interpret the depths of such a prophecy.
Revelation, on the other hand, is a narrative so simple that it is akin to a common folk tale told around a tavern. The world will end, and here are six signs that it'll happen, and astoundingly one of the signs could be charitably have been read to already have happened!
The Abyssal Rift was, in fact, discovered after the recording of the prophecy. However, one part of a prophecy being somewhat interpretable as some event that happened later does not a genuine prophecy make. There are countless prophecies who have gotten portions of their contents correct yet have been ultimately disproven.
Additionally, it seems that if this prophecy were indeed true, the end of the world ought to have happened already. Men are nothing but failure, as can be evidenced by the countless wars they have inflicted on each other, and their sub-century lifespan will ensure that they will die off in spite of any divine intervention.

Nice article. I like the repeating sentences in your prophecy with the 'will mark the day'.
Thank you! Having a strict structure helped a lot. My first draft was *all* over the place.
Yeah it is quite difficult to come up with a nice structure for these kinds of things. I had issues with it as well xp
I'm sure yours is excellent! I'm looking forward to reading it tomorrow! c:
