Summon or Banish Currency Spell in The Morning Realm | World Anvil

Summon or Banish Currency

Summon or Banish Currency is a spell created by the Gilded Hoard to enable itinerant bankers to withdraw and deposit money while away from an official branch.   It can only be cast by a Wizard of the School of Accounting with valid certification and requires a significant amount of training in how to correctly fill out the paperwork. The certification remotely revoked by the Gilded Hoard at any moment, at which point the wizard will have to be recertified if they wish to cast the spell.

  Deposit.
You collect the desired deposit in front of you and fill out the deposit form.   Crucial information includes a detailed inventory of what is being deposited, to which account, by whom, and whether the deposit has been around another dragon. The inventory must be accurate to the quarter gram, and if the deposit has been exposed to other dragons, a detailed divination report must also be attached as an appendix.   At the completion of the spell the deposit is teleported to the Hoard and a bank note summarizing the transaction is conjured.   Withdraw less than 100 gp.
A Minor Withdrawal form must be completed.   Crucial information includes the type and quantity of coins/trade bars to be withdrawn, from which account, by whom, on behalf of whom, and the location and time of the withdrawal. The withdrawal amount is usually specified as Hoard standard decimal notation, though Argosian notation is also acceptable.   At the completion of the spell the form is consumed and replaced with the desired currency and a bank note detailing the transaction. If the account does not contain enough balance to cover the transaction, only a bank note is conjured.   Withdraw more than 100 gp.
A Greater Withdrawal form must be completed.   Crucial information includes the type and quantity of coins/trade bars to be withdrawn, from which account, by whom, on behalf of whom, and the location and time of the withdrawal. Unlike a Minor Withdrawal, Greater Withdrawals require the caster and client to consent to a potential remote divination audit.   Notably, many clients who regularly use Greater Withdrawals are immune to audits, but the consent forms must be filled out regardless. Also unlike a Minor Withdrawal, a Greater Withdrawal allows an authorized third party to draw from a client's account on behalf of the client. In this case, the authorized third party shall consent to an audit instead of the client.   At the completion of the spell the form is consumed and replaced with the desired currency and a bank note detailing the transaction. If the account does not contain enough balance to cover the transaction, only a bank note is conjured.   Loan.
Requires a completed Standard Loan form.   Information includes the requested quantity of currency to borrow, the basis account of the client that is requesting the loan, location and time of the loan request, and a suite of calculations and variables intended for use by the Gilded Hoard numerologists.   Standard Loans use a formula depending on, among other variables, account standing, balance, withdrawal and deposit habits, client wealth, and client life expectancy to determine a maximum loan amount.   On completion of the spell, if the requested loan value is beneath the maximum loan amount, the requested amount of currency is summoned along with a bank note that details the transaction. Otherwise, only the bank note is conjured.   Non-standardized loans must be requested at a Gilded Hoard branch office. The applicant must also demonstrate that their situation merits a custom solution.

This is a really fun way to do banking XD lol for the "slight case of death" XD   Is the spell automatic or do the dragon look over each request and fulfil them themselves? What information are they looking for when they do divination on gold that has been around other dragons? If it is/was part of another hoard?

Thank you! Your life is indeed forfeit if you steal from the hoard after signing their forms. As section §2-2-1(311-301-2010-2011-301) makes clear, filling out the forms for a Greater Withdrawal waivers your right to keep living if you should steal from a Gilded Hoard account.   It is automatic, and yes, exactly. If it was part of another dragons hoard the money needs special treatment (ie Esereum wants to claim it as theirs and steal it for his hoard) before it can return to circulation.

Mwahahaha !!   Also, potentially stupid question. From what I recall, in most games, Material components are consumed, Focus components can be reused. With the certification being labelled a Material component, are Material components not expanded here? if there are divine spellcasters (who usually have a Divine Focus in most games I've played), how does their magic work?

Not at all! All systems are different. In DnD 5e it is specified in the component fields when the item is consumed (usually by adding "which the spell consumes" at the end) and items that have a cost cannot be replaced with a focus.
