Don't forget to greet the woods when you arrive. You don't want to upset such grand forests, she has a long memory.
The
Vincen Woods is a vast old-growth forest and woodland in the Castellan Kingdoms. Over a million people live in the Vincen Woods, many of them naturalized
folk who have chosen to pursue citizenship. The river Lum serves as an important vein into the woods.
The forest and the province are named after the goddess
Vinca, who roamed and maintained these woods herself in the
Middle Spoken Era.
No forest has as many awakened trees as the Vincen Woods, and as part of the
Woodland Pact with the local Treants and Dryads there is a strict ban on forestry in the Vincen Woods. Lumber is never chopped or collected in the Vincen Woods, instead Treesingers are employed to shape the trees. Homes are usually made from a local white clay.
Blooming Springs
The
Blooming Springs run through the Vincen Woods as bubbling creeks, collecting in small pools. This
springwater, or living water, is especially magically potent. The water of the blooming springs is the lifeblood of the woods. It is the Blooming Spring which sustains the strangest creatures in the woods, and that causes the regular wildlifes flowers-speckled fur.
A few of the springs have been made into spas. Others are small hidden oasises of life in the middle of the denser forest.
