Ashka of The Northern Water Tribe

Ashka of The Northern Water Tribe

What tragedy befell you at a young age? During an expedition in the Si Wong Desert, a group of bandit sand benders attacked Ashka and the other students while their Master was away. They successfully fended them off but not before losing Rika, the youngest of students.   Who do you hold most responsible for the tragedy? Why? The greed and criminality of benders. Specifically, the killers of Rika.   Who helped you through your grief? What did they teach you? Ashka's Mater and other students during travels   What symbol, heirloom, or mark do you carry to remind you of what you lost? Rika's traveler's journal   Why are you committed to this group or purpose? To atone for the sins of his Master

Body Features

Athletically built but not in a way that would make anyone worry about a physical altercation.

His hair colors and eyes stand out from most of his peers.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

From the day he could even move a drop of water, Ashka has trained under his Master. Being taught how to use momentum and fluid motions to parry and deflect most oncoming attacks. His Master, while brutally strict, never abused his position to harm his students. Though other students would complain otherwise.   Seeing the world was an experience like no other. Talking to denizens of different lands and learning about their culture truly shaped the Ashka sees others. Even the unfortunate times of seeing poverty, famine, and the aftermath of battle left an impressionable mark on who he is today.   The greed for power from benders and ignorant fear of benders have been the cause of violence against other beings. With a healing hand and knowledge for all, Ashka plans to bridge the gap between the divide between the men and women who seek violence to ascertain their goals.   Ashka carries around a journal everywhere he goes. Recording what he has seen on his travels. At night he reflects back and reminds himself of why he must continue his work. Violence shouldn't be the cause of death when we have the capability to live in hospitality.   After the betrayal of his Master, Ashka feels responsible for the death of Avatar Kyoshi. With the group of people he is with, he will do his best to atone for the sins of his Master.

Gender Identity

Male/He/Him

Sexuality

He does not consider people to be attractive after learning a decent amount about the human body.

Education

Ashka learned defensive techniques with water bending while under his Master, Nakki. When Master Nakki wasn't watching, he'd practice his medical water bending with other students who specialized in it.   Through training with Master Nakki, Ashka learned how to manipulate water to form walls, whips, ropes and even phase change from water to ice. While mainly defensive in focus, Ashka excelled in his Waterbending lessons.   Rika and Verdal taught Ashka healing while Ashka taught them fighting styles. Ashka wasn't the greatest option as Zhikul, Gokin, and Trigan are far better combatants.   Ashka and Master Nakki spent time one on one to practice meditating, practicing the teachings of Air Benders and traditional Nothern Water Tribe techniques to deal with the flow of positive and negative energy.

Mental Trauma

Until seeing his Master slay Avatar Kyoshi, he was fairly stable and friendly. Even after the tragic death of Rika, Ashka was saddened but decided to cherish the happy moments with her rather than focus on having no more future ones.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Healing the scars of the world left by violence is what drives Ashka to study his arts.

PB: Day 2

Ishana is possessed by the spirit, Kaaya, who can't enter the mortal world without possession. Nakki may also be possessed by a similar spirit. Her "brother" in spirit, Reivu, who is inside Nakki, my master... Maybe he didn't betray me..? Must continue chakra training. The other students need to be informed of Master Nakki's disappearance. I shouldn't tell them about the betrayal. The best I can say is that he is out on a mission and won't return for some time.

PB: Day 1

Traveling with the other companions who witnessed the death of Avatar Kyoshi. Yui is having the hardest time grieving Kyoshi. Yui and Kanna are the former Avatar's warriors. I must do my best to ease their inner struggles. The Elders in the council are not willing to make a move as of right now. Must tell the other students of Master Nakki's betrayal. Pain from being sutured is unbearable as expected. I will eat in the morning, for now, I must rest. The group I have ended up with is a weird bunch but I will make sure they don't fall into despair or sadness.
