Session 72 - Collective

General Summary

There were a thousand entrances into the giant astral craft cube. Lat’num calculated the frequency of “wormbot spawns” and guided the Party in safely.
Just inside, they heard voices. It sounded like another party was on the same mission from the Lady of Pain. The Party wondered if they had been duped or whether they would receive their reward if they solved the problem.
As they investigated, they found that the halls were nearly identical, but with various levels of degredation. The ship’s walls and components had been transforming into the worm monsters, leaving holes here and there.
Further in the ship was in fine condition with no damage. Ifrit figured they need to hurry before more degredation happened near their area.
S’thom noticed that the sides of the hallways had thin cubbies, about a foot deep and 3 feet wide. They were all identical, roughly the size of one of her taller friends. A few blocks later they found that the cubbies were occupied. Gith cyborgs with laser eyes or multi-tool prosthetics stood silently in each stall, apparently asleep.
Gorgoroth, who had heard a thrumming of psionic energy, reached out to the source of the pulsin and tried to communicate with it.
The cyborgs awoke.
“We are the Collective,” one said. “You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.”
The cyborgs attacked. They were slow to attack and didn’t dodge well, but their stunning tools were extremely powerful. Gorgoroth nearly fell three times, but his friends stood back and kept him up with healing and temporal magic. A minute later, eight dead cyborgs lined the hall.
