The Xant Empire
The Xant empire is the most powerful government power in the NecroVerse, as well as the largest. Despite that, however, it only controls one Nexus, meaning that its Versewise migration system is not the most efficient, though mostly because of the amount of traffic it produces. The Xant empire is home to Majikai of all kinds, but mostly NecroMaji. Its emperor holds authority over many of the policies created by the empire, but the current emperor, [placeholder name], is practically a figurehead. The people controlling the empire behind the scenes are the house of senators with representatives from each corner of the empire. The capital of the Xant empire, Xanthu, is an ancient city that has stood since long before the Connection. It is also home to the empire's only Nexus.
Separated into three regions, the empire has natural borders preventing travel in some form or fashion across them. Such borders consist of the Lantian mountain range separating Mentila, the western region, from the others, and the BloodStream, a river of glowing white water that instantly kills any living thing that enters it unprotected, which separates the north region, Zallix, and the south region, Shallum.
Demography and Population
The Xant empire is mostly populated by NecroMaji with a somewhat small percentage of other races. There are also a miniscule number of giants roaming the expansive lands controlled by the empire. Any dragons residing in any region of the empire, and there are few, is likely an exile from the Duchy of the Deep seeking sanctuary. The western region is the most diverse due to the Nexus residing in it, allowing for immigration from other Verses. The southernmost region is home to a tribe of giants which have gained a reputation for being quite amicable towards Majikai.
Despite the size of the empire itself, its population is fairly small caused by the dangerous environment of the NecroVerse as a whole. The growth rate of the NecroVerse is likewise slow, sometimes even negative, because of this.
Territories
The empire itself is comprised of three regions, the westernmost belonging to the power that originally conquered the others, and as such, is home to the capital, Xant. The other regions are the result of a war that occurred before the Connection among three nearby regions, then sovereign countries. The nation to the west, then called Mentila, overpowered the others with their superior mastery over Death and the use of guerilla tactics. However, three hundred years later, the northern region, Xallix, broke apart from the empire and reconquered it on its own. The southern region, Shallum, eventually got tired of being conquered and invaded, but has lacked the necessary resources and sheer strength for war since the very start since the majority of its forces are constantly focused on protecting itself on its southern border, which edges along the Wastes of the Condemned.
Military
The Xant empire holds a significant military force with four divisions based on the capabilities of those who occupy them, including a foot soldier division, a cavalry division, an artillery division, and an arcane division. Each division is about three hundred units strong, where one unit is twenty soldiers, with the exception of the arcane division, which holds approximately one hundred casters.
Technological Level
The empire has not gone the farthest overall in terms of scientific advancement, but the combined efforts of the three nations under Xant rule has allowed several hundred years of successful, steady progress.
Religion
The Xant empire is predominantly comprised of people who primarily worship Ba'alNecro, but some larger cities have temples to other gods to accommodate the minority, typically temples to Ba'alBio but others have also popped up over the years.
While worship of any of the gods is accepted, there is no sanctuary within the law of the land for those who belong to the Cults of Bei'el or any other fiendish figure.
Agriculture & Industry
The Xant empire, due to the dry state of the NecroVerse, has had little general luck in regards to agriculture and has had to adopt dubious magical methods of increasing crop yields and even buy bulk resources from nations in other Verses. The agricultural gain they have achieved include cattle such as cows and goats, transportation animals like horses and camels, and crops with little value such as potatoes, corn, and beets. The only crop that seems to thrive in the empire's land is various types of spices which sell for a fair sum.
Trade & Transport
There are several roads followed by traders which lead to the major cities in each region, as well as certain guided paths along the Lantian mountains meant to bring more trade to Mentila and a few bridges and ferries that cross the BloodStream. As for modes of transportation, many people travel on foot while others go in wagons drawn by horses, and yet more travel by camel.
Education
Those who reside in the larger cities in the Xant empire often can afford more extensive education, which is a large reason why more colleges reside in these places with more accessibility options than one would see in a smaller town. Rarely do the majority of Xant people receive a higher education, and instead move on to become menial workers such as farmers, oftentimes following in their families' footsteps.
Infrastructure
Within each village, town, and city in the empire with a population over one thousand is a court of law and a town guard, each provided by the empire as safety and comfort measures. Most larger cities by now have achieved indoor plumbing, while others are still in the works. Also, almost every settlement in the empire, whether it be a small hamlet or a towering city, has mounted walls surrounding it for protection against incoming undead and other such monsters.

Major Exports
The Xant empire is the Multiverse's largest producer of precious minerals such as gold, silver, or platinum. These minerals are actually fairly common in the NecroVerse, but the amount of stores found in the earth in the Xant empire, specifically Mentila, is significantly more numerous than any other known region of the NecroVerse. Additionally, Xant spices and art are considered exotic and tasteful to many people in other Verses and go for a high price in some markets.
Major Imports
The Xant empire is in constant need of resources due to its large size and small crop yield, but is always willing to pay handsomely those who sell their stock in bulk. They also buy large quantities of fabrics for those with the talent enough to create art and clothing to be sold at a higher price later.
Legislative Body
The Xant Empire's laws and policies are written by the emperor and the house of senators through a series of checks and balances to keep each side in check, put in place by one emperor who recognized their unfair advantage against their own senate and wanted them to have a fair chance at helping their home region.
Judicial Body
The empire's judicial system consists of four Grand Judges who reside in the emperor's palace in Xanthu and were instated some seven hundred years ago.
