The Okanira

A Cerulean (blue) priestess who oversees and conducts the ritual known as the Tembolo.
The Okanira is the esteemed figure who presides over the Tembolo ceremonies. Unlike the Okaneru, the Okanira focuses on the emotional and practical aspects of the temporary union.
Role and Responsibilities:
Preparation of the Couple: Helps the couple understand the terms and significance of the Tembolo. Offers guidance on managing expectations and building a harmonious relationship. During the Ceremony: Leads the Heart Invocation, seeking blessings for emotional growth and understanding. Oversees the Binding of Hearts, performing rituals to link the couple’s heartstrings. Ensures the ceremony adheres to established customs and agreements. Post-Ceremony Duties: Provides ongoing support and mediation, helping the couple navigate challenges. Conducts follow-up rituals to reinforce the emotional connection. Symbolism: Wears robes of soft teal and gold, symbolizing affection, harmony, and prosperity. Carries a heart-shaped talisman or wand to aid in the ceremonies.
