Session Two

General Summary

The adventurers woke on the ship and introduced themselves just in time to have a cannon ball sail through the outer wall of the ship and through the door of the brig, weakening it to the point that Hurrudim was able to bash his way out. Unfortunately, the ship had been boarded by Lizardfolk. There was a protracted battle which resulted in Barrish and Edmond being incapacitated. There were terrible noises from above and Huridim poked his head above deck to see the ancient white dragon that was tearing the ship to pieces. Huridim returned to report. As Raistlin and Hurudim hatched a plot to use the lower decks cannon to blast their way out of the ship with its launch, Zaihiri came down the stairs from the top deck and demanded the compass. Raistlin put his trust in Zaihiri and tossed the compass to him.   Zaihiri took the compass up to the top deck, holding it aloft in triumph. But Raistlin pursued him and tried to get it back. This drew Zaihiri's attention for a moment and the compass was snatched by a pelican and carried away. A lizardfolk pirate fired a bone spear at the pelican, frightening it and causing it to drop the compass into the sea where it was swallowed by a shark. The shark was then swallowed by a kraken which dove quickly away.   Raistlin returned to the lower deck and successfully blew a hole into the side of the ship. They escaped, rowing the launch out of the undertow as the ship began to go under. They paddled their way to what they felt was safety, landing on the shores of Skaug where they were quickly surrounded and taken into custody by the city guard and locked into cells. They were briefly questioned by a woman who was much kinder to the human, Edmond than anyone else.   The adventurers managed to bribe a dog into bringing them the keys only to remember that Raistlin had a mage hand spell. He used it to unlock the door to their cells. They crept down the hall and discovered a sleeping guard watching over their belongings. Raistlin was less than stealthy, waking up the guard but then convinced him that he was there to interrogate the prisoners. He led the guard back to the cells where he was ambused and knocked uncounscious.   Raistlin stole the guard's uniform and went to investigate further. He found a room with a guardsman composing a poem to the captain of the militia, Rowan Tallstag. He offered to bring one of the prisoners to help and then brought Hurudim who beat the guardsman senseless while Raistlin played the bagpipes in the next room to distract the rest of the guard. A melee ensued and all of the prison guards were put down non-lethally, allowing the party to escape with the dog.   As they exited they witnessed a non-human shot down in cold blood by the guards as he tried to escape via the water.
