Humans have been on earth for many, many years. The species evolved and grew into intelligent beings, capable of inventing and creating technology. When they almost completely destroyed themselves with said technology, most welcomed the aid of the elves and expanded on the resources given to them even further.
Thus humans are very adaptable and quick learners, albeit a little impulsive and impatient.
