Wired Reflexes

Wired Reflexes is a cyberware augmentation that involves using advanced technology to enhance the reaction times to obscene levels, not as much as a Sandevistan, but still a massive amount. Like sandevistans, it can be combined with reaction enhancers for an even more increase in reactions. However, wired reflexes are much safer than sandevistans.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Wired Reflexes are an extremely powerful piece of cyberware, but one that is hard to adjust to.   Components: In an extremely invasive procedure, numerous nerve enhancers and adrenaline stimulators are implanted in strategically important positions in the user's body. These never enhancers and adrenaline simulators have to be custom tuned to the person's physiology.   Implantation: The process of implanting wired reflexes is invasive and time-consuming. First, a device is implanted on the brain cerebellum that allows you to comprehend the vast amounts of enhanced sensory information caused by your boosted reaction times, and it can be turned off where it is not needed via mental commands, which turns off the whole wired reflexes. Then, nanomachines cover the nerves around the body with nerve enhancer wires, and surgeons strategically place adrenaline simulators throughout the body via surgery. After approximately 20 days of getting used to the new enhancement reflexes, the user is ready to use it to its full potential.   Abilities: Wired reflexes offering a substantial increase in reaction times even at the lowest levels. At the highest levels, it can easily surpass all the reaction augmentations except for a Sandevistan.   Class 1: Class 1 wired reflexes are the least powerful, but still drastically more powerful than most other reaction augmentations. Class 1 wired reflexes allow the user to dodge hails of gunfire. Unaugmented people look like they're going in slow motion for you, and you can easily perform multiple actions without slowing down.   Class 2: Class 2 wired reflexes are the second most powerful and offer a substantial increase over class 1. Class 2 wired reflexes allow the user to dodge hails of ETC weapons. Unaugmented people look like they're going extremely slow for you, and you can perform multiple high-intensity actions without slowing down.   Class 3: Class 3 wired reflexes are the most powerful and offer the most potent increase of reaction time. Class 3 wired reflexes allow the user to dodge hails of Tech weapons. Unaugmented people look like they're going extremely slow for you, and you can perform multiple high-intensity actions without slowing down.   As noted above, wired reflexes can be combined with reaction enhancers for even more increased reactions. However, despite all the positives of wired reflexes, there are downsides. The first reason is that if you are not a naturally or augmentally tougher metahuman, the sheer speed at which your body moves will crush bones and tear muscles, so you must have some sort of body enhancement to effectively use this augmentation.
