Sakti Spellwork

This Article Is Still Under Construction And Will Be Changed

. . . Nimue made a line of Helfire around the serpentine neck. Atraxa's blades traced the Helfire trail. The snake head severed from the armored collar. The Helfire froze the outer ridge of the neck as the flame licked toward the center. The stem turned into a black crystal.

Sakti Spellwork is how a user of Sakti cast spells or inscribes runes upon objects.

Spell Structure

The structure of the spell is separated into three key components: Incantation, Material Components, and Type of Sakti.

Incantation

The incantation is the most important part of a spell. Spells can be tricky things when the incantation isn't done right. Even when inscribing a runes, if the spell incantation done correctly, the spell could fizzle, or worse, explode in the caster's face.   An example of the spell requiring the greater incantation with the letter sequence "5-3-5-8- object of the spell" like the Time Reversal:
Ekish Vin Naril Horokine Reverse
— Incantation for Time Reversal
Powerful and more Sakti consuming spells such as the Time Reversal must have the correct letter sequence for the incantation; while a less Sakti consuming spell such as Sakti Manifestation, only requires one word for the incantation:
Saw'vala
— Incantation for Sakti Manifestation
Another spell that requires the greater incantation sequence is Helfire Wall. This is a spell Nimue Umbrahold uses frequently.
Ashti Pia Conil Toforint Wall

Material Components

The material components of a spell can matter just as much as the incantation, for it is the catalyst of the spell. Using the components of the spell can make for quicker casting, so long as the caster has the items in question, and can make for repeated use of the spell.
Some material components can be used over and over while others, such as the Bound Teleportation spell Nimue Umbrahold used for an escape, are one use only components and thus needs to have said components for the spell to be cast again.

The materials for the Bound Teleportation spell are as follows:
  • Raven Feathers
  • Chalk Dust
Each material has its purpose. The Raven Feathers are for swift travel while the Chalk Dust is used for covering the magickal trace the spell would leave behind.

Type of Sakti

The third and final key importance of Sakti Spellwork is the Type of Sakti used. The user must be sure that the blending of the magickal energy is right or the spell could fizzle out and not be ready. The Blood Sakti is mostly, but not limited to, Crimson Rites and Body Bindings, while Planar Sakti is mostly, but not limited to, Realm travel and Dimensional Elemental spells such as Helfire Wall.   For every spell being cast there is a Type of Sakti that can be used for it. If the caster were to put it in layman's terms: If the Incantation is the invoking of the spell and the Material Components are the catalyst, then the Type of Sakti being used is the spark for the spell.
. . . .Nimue pulled seeds from her coat and threw them at the ground. "Garth Sol Hoaro Vinelous Entraptem."   The seeds had a tint of blue as the spell was released. One of the seeds grew into several vines that wrapped around denizens of New York, but the spell was a success as the blonde follower was caught in the trap.
