Church of the Elders

Church of the Elders is the main Veloran religious organization and their government. It was founded when the Elders visited Prometheia and helped Velors develop. Because Elders were active on the whole planet the belief that they are gods was present among all Velors

Structure

The Church is lead by the cardinal who presides the Episcopal Council. Cardinal is chosen from all bishops for life. Each cardinal chooses then 10 bishops to be his Episcopal Council. The council is in office until the new cardinal is chosen.

Mythology & Lore

The most important belief, which is considered a historical fact, is the arrival of the Elders on Prometheia. They guided and helped Velors develop and unite on a planetary scale. It is said that Torak Mek, the first cardinal, was appointed directly by the Elders. Others say that Elders have nothing to do with that and even tried to show the Velors that they are no gods. Velors, however, interpreted that as a test of their faith and stayed firmly with their beliefs.
