Hill Dwarves

Hill Dwarves are a semi-nomadic race. They are a hardy and resourceful folk, who are often ridiculed by [Mountain Dwarves] for their lack of generalized education available in Strongholds. Typically a few inches taller than their mountain bretheren ,they are still shorter in stature than humans with a robust and powerful build that reflects their Dwarven heritage. Their semi-nomadic lifestyle sets them apart from other Dwarven clans and creates a distinct and fascinating culture.   Hill Dwarves travel in small, tight-knit groups, often consisting of extended families or clans, often skirmishing with one another, as they roam the vast and varied landscapes of their world. Instead of settling in permanent homes, they move from one hillside or lush valley to another, seeking fertile lands, natural resources, and safe places to establish temporary dwellings. Their homes are masterfully constructed to blend with the environment, ensuring minimal impact on the land they hold dear.   These Dwarves have an inherent connection to the earth and a profound respect for nature's cycles. As they traverse different terrains, they have developed an impressive knowledge of plants, wildlife, and hidden trails. This makes them adept at survival in the wilderness, and they are skilled foragers, herbalists, and hunters. They use what they find in their surroundings to craft tools and equipment that are both practical and innovative.   Despite their semi-nomadic lifestyle, Hill Dwarves remain true to their Dwarven roots as skilled craftsmen and artisans. They carry portable forges and crafting tools with them, creating beautifully ornate trinkets, sturdy weapons, and functional tools along their journey. These creations often showcase the natural beauty of the materials found in the lands they explore.   Hill Dwarves are known for their strong sense of community and unity. Each clan member has a role and responsibility in the group, contributing their unique skills and talents to ensure the survival and prosperity of the entire community. They hold great respect for their elders and draw wisdom from their experiences, passing down oral traditions and ancient knowledge from one generation to the next. Even fighting clans respect the tradition of a well thrown feast!   As they move through the lands, Hill Dwarves engage in lively gatherings and festivities, sharing stories of their adventures, celebrating successful hunts, and honoring their ancestors.
