History of the world

The First Age   In the first age, the four Greater Deities created Humans, Elves, Dwarves, and Gnomes to live peacefully on earth,  and these 4 races grew in size and power, impressing the gods with their abilities to create and love.   The huge amount of happiness and excitement their creations brought the Greater Deities caused them to feel the need to share the gift of creation with others,  and so The 4 Greater Deities formed two pairs of husband and wife, eventually creating the Lesser Deities who in turn,  introduced their own races to the world.   All was peaceful, the races had the blessings of the gods, divine and arcane magic, and no monsters to fear,  The races worked together in unison, trading goods and sharing knowledge, each race with their own blessing.   Dwarves had the blessing of the forge, being able to smith masterworks no other race could. Elves had the blessing of magic, being able to easily manipulate the weave, unlike any other race. Gnomes had the blessing of tinkering, being able to create mechanisms so complex they could move on their own. Humans had the blessing of adaptability, being able to survive in any environment.   Unfortunately, the humans did not understand they had a gift at all,  and through the spread of propaganda by the empire were lead to believe they had to take out all the gifted races,  which there were many, to catch the attention of the gods so they could finally gain their deserved gift.   The War   As the meaningless greed of the humans grew stronger,  they began acting more erratic and violent, believing to be a giftless race in a peaceful world of gifted races,  the humans thought this was a test, a divine trial given by the gods so they would claim their very own blessing.   The twisted minds of the Empire quickly began to act,  they began spreading the word about this trial they were given and raised armies to march towards the countries the other races lived in.   The gods were busy celebrating, they were so blinded by their excitement they didn't pay close attention to what was happening in the mortal realm,  first went the minor races, then the Imperials marched towards the Dwarves, then the Gnomes, and eventually The Elves.   The minor races were massacred. The Dwarves and Elves were driven to exile themselves, die, or become slaves. The Gnomes were wiped out for their stubbornness and constant plotting. The Humans reigned supreme, and finally got the attention of the gods.   The Curse   The Gods were disgusted at first, they did not comprehend why Humans would commit the horrendous acts they did,  the Gods quickly became furious and ordered all the humans to gather at their capital,  as they would meet the Gods themselves, the Humans complied.   As the Humans gathered at the capital of the Empire, eccentric to have finally gotten the attention of the gods and completing their trial,  were shocked when met by a terrible thunderstorm, earthquakes, and tornados.   All the gods descended from The Beyond, showing for the first time, their appearances to the mortals,  they expressed the tremendous disgust and disappointment they felt for mankind and placed a curse on humans.   "For those of you who have committed the worst representation of each sin,  your body and mind shall be shaped by that very sin, forcing you to bring destructions to mankind"   And so, for each of the deadly sins, one person who committed the worst representation of it transformed into terrifying monsters of pure malice, know as the 7 kings.   The human general who took numerous lives in his anger was shaped by his wrath and became the great red dragon. The Elven spy who betrayed his own people for personal gain was shaped by his greed and became the original vampire. The human rapist who forced himself onto countless women was shaped by his lust and became the king of green skins. The human emperor who knew the truth about the gifts but refused to stop the war was shaped by his sloth and became the first giant. The overweight mayor who left his people to starve so he could have banquets was shaped by his gluttony and became a devil. The human hero who refused to accept his mistakes was shaped by his pride and became the obsidian golem. The unknown person who watched from the shadows and wished he had everything was shaped by his envy and became the miserable ooze.   And so the world of men was drowned in darkness.   The 7 Kings   As the 7 Kings first awakened, they wreaked havoc across The Obsidian Vale and reigned supreme for centuries to come,  but as they took what they wanted, they settled down, satisfied, for the time being,  a ticking time bomb waiting to explode, and once again envelop the world in terror.   The 7 Kings did not go dormant without leaving behind dangers, however,  as from each King of sin, a multitude of monsters were born, spreading across the land with the only objective to cause further destruction.   The Second Age   Humanity rebuilt, new countries were established, and with most of the 7 kings inactive,  the world began to resemble a society.   Although a majority of the 7 Kings are dormant, the monsters they created spread across the land,  still terrorizing the people and making sure life is as miserable as it can possibly be, cities are filled with corruption and bandits,  while the wilderness is filled with monsters and ancient dangers.   There truly isn't a single safe place in this world, this is the world you were born in,  and this might be the world you die in unless something changes unless someone changes it,  but in a world filled with nobodies, what can one truly change?
