Pedyat

Pedyat was a tiderider of the Castuvol family in the last decades of the second Volcanic milennium. She was not especially popular within the family; she had high standards and was hard on anyone who failed to meet them, leading to a reputation for being hard-nosed, humorless, and argumentative.

Pedyat did not pass her dive training until she was fourteen, several years later than most sailors. Personality clashes were a factor in the delay--those with grudges against her would deliberately ambush her under circumstances in which she would be least able to perform a proper roll correction. Rather than report the abuse, Pedyat took each failed fall to mean she needed to improve.

Morality & Philosophy

Pedyat believed a sailor's first responsibility was to the family and fleet.  She favored adherence to rules, and did her best to train that attitude into the younger generations.
