First One

First One is a figure from the mythology of human oceandwellers. In the creation story, First One emerges from the place of death into the world, then returns five times to bring out people who imbue the world with qualities that enable life to exist. Together with the fifth of these, Breath Woman, he becomes the ancestor of all people.
In some variations of the legend, First One is known simply as the One, and carries the qualities themselves rather than any people associated with them.
