Octant High Council
Number of Members: The OHC consists of 16 members, 2 for each Octant.
Appointment: Members of the OHC are appointed based on a combination of factors, including their expertise, experience, and support from their respective Octants. They serve for a predetermined term, ensuring regular rotation and fresh perspectives.
Responsibilities: The OHC serves as the highest governing body of the UEA. Their primary responsibilities include overseeing the entire UEA, making crucial decisions, setting high-level strategic directions and priorities, and appointing Supreme Enforcers.
Decision-Making: Important decisions, such as major policy changes, resource allocations, and diplomatic agreements, are made through a majority vote within the OHC. A quorum of at least two-thirds of the council members is required for voting to take place.
Meetings: The OHC holds regular meetings, and the location of these meetings rotates among the Core Sectors to ensure equal representation and prevent any one Octant from dominating the proceedings. They may also conduct emergency meetings when urgent matters arise.
Advisory Councils: The OHC may establish advisory councils or committees to provide specialized expertise on specific issues, such as security, diplomacy, or resource management. These advisory groups assist the council in making informed decisions.
