Garrison

The Garrison was the name given by the Magi Xenologis of the Mechanium Explorator vessel which first charted Ophelia VII to the xenos race inhabiting ("colonizing" would have been too-much) the planet. A warrior-race summarized to have been the product of genetic engineering rather than natural selection, their fierce defense of the planet required the intervention of the First Exploratory Fleet and the Primarch Rogal Dorn to defeat. The campaign culminated in a battle in what is now the Steel River Valley where the God-Emperor personally led the charge with 100 of His Custodians, exterminating the Garrison as a race.

Anatomy

No extant samples of the species exist and records of the campaign are scant or non-existent. Fragmentary records and legends suggest a humanoid species.
