The Outer Black

The world above, shattered by an event that changed both the terrain they lived on and the perceptions of the people themselves. Layman's Belt, what remains of the chunks of the old moon floating around the planet, now houses huge industrial cities full of Eligni and other races. Though rapid and constant advancement is beautiful and full of hope, there are flaws in society. And in the background of it all, those flaws are gently pulling apart the seams of the world.   The world below, dictated by the three Elven spires that reach far into the skies, a planet surface deadly and untamable - or so the stories go. No one has attempted to settle upon the ground in almost a century - apart from the Wood Elven spire, from whom silence is the most common communication. With the Ink Elven Spire led by the Matron and her three consuls, the High Elven Spire run by a single demigod-like being, and the third Spire abandoned and empty, tensions are high and people are unsure.   After the arrival of the Ark and its subsequent destruction at the hands of the Seven-Fingered Beast, society is realising that there is more to the universe than previously thought. There are things out there, things that move in strange ways, sticking to the darkness. Things that want the planet for themselves. Will the world fall to law, or to chaos? And will anyone rise to guide them to victory, or will they ally with an outsider at the promise of more? What awaits you, in the Outer Black?
