The Outer Layer

The Outer Layer is the Planet that contains The Isles of Carinthia and eventually the supercontinent of Loerik. In an age before time itself, The entity known as the Aether has cycled through an uncountable number of Universes to retain power and the one the Outer Layer is a part of is its latest subject. One thing remains constant in these cycles: The planet is at the center of all space and time. These cycles depend on physical beings (because the Aether is not physical) to build a layered system of livable planes to be absorbed into the device in the core of the layers called "The Crucible". The formless physical beings created from the Aether are known as Primordial spirits who build the physical dimensions of these layers. However, in the making of the device, something happened that differed from past cycles.   A primordial spirit figured out the purpose of The Crucible. Its attempt to dismantle the device led nowhere then it decided to make a lock on the device and contain itself. The hate felt toward the Aether corrupted its form into something else entirely new and unseen. Its form warped from a gaseous being into a massive black and dark purple oily mass of tendrils, maws, and eyes. It named itself Calamity for that is what it has promised the Aether. This event drew the attention of a being that has survived all past cycles without interacting with anything in said past cycles. A boulder scoured with waste comes crashing down onto the Outer Layer causing foreign magic to separate a majority of the Primordial spirits from the remaining primordial spirits and the Aether preventing any physical interaction with the Outer layers.   The Spirits trapped on the outer layer disperse and are the origins of several elements and creatures of the beginning world In the Isles of Carinthia!
