Scarla showed extreme aptitude for learning right out of the gate. By the end of her first year of schooling she was solving complicated mathematical equations at a university level. This extreme advancement at school came at a social cost. Her classmates found her to be downright weird and she became the subject of incessant bullying. Recognized by Fizbar Hammerhand, the school's Headmaster, Scarla was given special treatment during school social times. Instead of playing with the other students, Scarla was introduced to the school's research laboratories usually reserved for faculty. With access to equipment and technologies, Scarla thrived as an inventor and developed several small mechanical devices that the teaching staff still use to this day. Fizbar recommended Scarla for a coveted apprentice slot at the Alchemical & Apothecary's summer session.
