Ghalt

Ghalt is a large town situated in central Aundair. Ghalt is known for its vineyards and wineries as well as the historic home of the artist Sebastian Verite.

Overview

Ghalt is a lively country town dominated by the Aundairian wine industry and famous for the Chateau Ghalt-Lecomte winery. They have a healthy (though sometimes heated) rivalry with Bluevine, competing to produce the most prestigious wine in Aundair. Ghalt also houses a drastic split between the working class who work the wineries and vineyards in town and the aristocratic tourists who come to taste and vacation in Ghalt. Other than the wineries, tourists come to Ghalt to visit the Sebastian Verite Historic Home Gallery, the location of the famous painter's former workshop and apartment that is now a gallery dedicated to his works.

Geography

Ghalt lies near the lightning rail line between Marketplace and Passage. The town also has an Orien trade road that passes through from Marketplace to Bluevine and Lathleer. Lush, vineyard covered hills surround the town which is comprised of narrow, flagstone streets and mostly two-story wide-roofed buildings tightly packed together.
