The Lightning Rail
While the Lightning Rail's technology and arcana were initially developed by House Cannith, House Orien now owns and operates the network. The decision for Cannith to sell the technology to Orien is widely considered the worst business decision ever made in Khorvaire. The rail has given Orien a near-monopoly on the transportation industry that, during the war, allowed Orien to become the most influential House, transporting troops, supplies, and various other war necessities across the continent. However, House Lyrandar's introduction of airships have started to chip away at Orien's monopoly, leaving a bitter rivalry in its wake.Teleportation
The Lightning Rail may be Orien's most prevalent industrial offering, it is not its most powerful or envied. Orien maintains exclusivity over teleportation in Khorvaire, offering the service for an exorbitant fee that some member of the elite and royalty use frequently. While Orien may be bitter about Lyrandar's airships, they will go to untold lengths to keep arcana that allows teleportation secret.Shardmobile
Recently, Orien introduced a new transportation technology. Powered by a specialized dragonshard engine, these horseless carriages can travel up to 20 mph and do not require a dragonmark to pilot. While still new, the mobiles have begun to find a foothold in larger cities as well as labor industries.Notable Members
